Italian Licenza Media Program

The prerequisite for the Licenza Media Program is the Italian Elementary School Diploma. Students who have obtained their Licenza Elementare abroad will have to contact the Italian Media Program teachers at the beginning of the school year.

About the Program
The LICENZA MEDIA PROGRAM (LMP) is an Additional Learning Program that Marymount International School offers to students who are native speakers of Italian and/or have a fluent command of Italian, from Grades 6-8. Although the program is not a compulsory requirement for Italian students, it is a necessary program for students wishing to obtain the “LICENZA MEDIA”, the Middle School certificate that is recognized by the Italian government and is also needed for entry into any public/private Italian High School.

The LMP is well integrated into the Marymount International Program with classes taught in English but aligned to the Indicatori Nazionali 2017. The Italian Literature 6 and 7 classes focus on developing students’ oral and written skills in Italian, as well as deepen their knowledge of Italian culture and literature, including readings from Italian classics such as Dante’s Divine Comedy or Boccaccio’s Decameron.
