Marymount has designated specific transition routes and dining areas for its students, faculty and staff in order to ensure their safety and wellbeing. Social distancing and sanitization procedures are firmly in place in compliance with government legislation.

The Health Center

Marymount's Health Center is located near the School's front gate in proximity of the sports facilities. A golf-cart is stationed in front of the Center to transport students from various parts of the campus as needed.  Our School Nurse is available Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm, as well as during on campus sports games and other school events.

The Health Center is available to our students, faculty and staff members who may need assistance during the school day in case of illness or accidents.

The School Nurse has consultations with students, parents, teachers throughout the academic year and regularly circulates information regarding communicable diseases or infections (i.e. chicken pox, lice etc.) and their medication.

The School Nurse also schedules annual visual screening tests for students in the Elementary School in addition to visiting all classes and speaking about health-related issues (i.e. good hygiene, avoiding the spread of common colds and infections and more).

All students have a Health record which documents their health needs and vaccination information in addition to their allergies and any other matters which need the assistance of the School Nurse (i.e. medication that needs to be administered during the school day).

The School Nurse also prepares and supplies First Aid kits and defibrillators to teachers who supervise off campus activities.

Approaches to Learning Assemblies

Marymount engages its Secondary School students in weekly "Approaches to Learning" (ATL) Assemblies. These sessions are designed to provide students with the skills to explicitly learn "how to learn", giving them the tools to build wellbeing in their lives and positive study habits. Past gathering have focused on Actioning Strengths, Prioritizing and Personal Timetables, Zest and Healthy Habits, Mindful Listening and Anti-Bullying strategies, Planning and Timelines, Reviewing and Revising, Strong Brain Pathways and Self-calming Techniques.

Nutritious Lunch Offering

Marymount offers its students a delicious, healthy, balanced, high-quality and nutritious lunch which draws inspiration from the Mediterranean diet for which Italy is famous.  Lunch is universally offered on a complimentary basis to all students, faculty and staff by the School, as it is intended to be a moment of sharing and bonding within the school community.

The dining room includes live-cooking stations with grilled meat, fish and cheese options, a wok station, an extensive salad buffet, first and main course areas (that include vegan and vegetarian options), healthy sandwiches, freshly-squeezed fruit and vegetable juices, a pizza oven featuring freshly-baked breads and pizzas made with organic and whole-grain flours each day.

A typical lunch consists in a daily option of pasta and rice that may be eaten plain with extra virgin olive oil or with a light tomato sauce, meat or fish, fruits and vegetables.

The kitchen uses many organic ingredients (i.e. pasta, home-made bread and pizza) and extra virgin olive oil.

Students with allergies are carefully monitored by the School Nurse, and special lunch options are made readily available to those with gluten, lactose and any other food intolerance. The kitchen is a completely peanut-free environment.

Pet-therapy support

Marymount's pet therapy dog is available to students in Learning Support and the Psychologists’ offices to enhance the well-being of the students. She is Pet-therapy trained and an addition to the support team for those students who request having her present at their sessions.
