Marymount offers students in Grades 9-12 the opportunity to participate in a variety of Varsity sports throughout the school year. The program is designed to promote physical fitness as well as the values of teamwork, commitment, and sportsmanship.

Marymount is a member of the American Schools in Italy League (ASIL), which is part of the U.S. Department of Defense Education Activity - Europe (DoDEA-E) League. During the season, Marymount competes with other international schools, as well as schools from the American and NATO military bases located in Italy. Therefore, in addition to practicing and playing together, our Varsity athletes enjoy a significant amount of quality time together while traveling to other cities in Italy and Europe.

Once the season is finished, the teams travel to Germany or within Italy to participate in the European Championships. There, the teams are regrouped into divisions according to school size. The European Championships are a tough challenge lasting two to three days depending on the sport.

Tryouts for the Varsity teams are held at the beginning of each season. Students must submit all necessary documentation before being able to participate. All High School students may try out providing the documentation has been submitted.

During the season, practices take place on Monday through Thursday from 3:45 to 5:00PM, and games typically take place on Fridays and/or Saturdays.
